Patriotic, Manly Center Step card

This card is for my wonderful nephew.  He is turning 17 this next week.  How is it possible that these kids grow up so fast?  My nephew is such a great kid.  When we come out to visit his family, he always plays with my 12 year old son.  Which to me in todays world is rare, because a teenager sees anyone younger as a pest and annoying.  Yet, he still takes time to play and do boy things with him.  Weather it is riding on the four-wheeler or playing in the mud by the pond.  One thing is for sure, my boy always has a ton of fun with him.  So my nephew is a boy with a lot of character and just the right amount of gentleness, and roughness in him.  He is just plain a good kid.  Well, he deserves a really unique card.  So this is what I came up with.  First of all, he loves eagles, so I had to incorporate that and since his birthday is right after the 4th, I had to do something patriotic in theme.  So this is what I came up with.  I stamped the eagle on velum paper and laid it over the paper the music to "God Bless America".  Oh, I love how this card turned out so much.  I know that he will like it too!

I used:
Potpourri Basket
Printing Press
Red & Blue Cardstock
DCWV the glitter cardstock stack
Printed Music Sheet and distressed it
Cuttlebug folder Polka Dots
Star Brad
Red Grommets
Eagle Stamp Hobby Lobby
The words are computer generated
Tag punch

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

Large Flower Birthday

Well, I made this card for my Grandma's birthday.  She has very poor eyesight, so the bigger and brighter the better for her.  Plus I got the idea from  Everyday Cricut.  I love how big the flower is and how it has a lot of depth to it, too.  I will have to play around with this one and see if I can make smaller ones.  This is definitely one you cannot send in the mail, unless you have a extra special envelope and want to pay extra for shipping.  Thank goodness, Grandma just lives around the corner.  Plus, I get to see her open it and enjoy her response to it!  I know she will love it!

I used:
Forever Young Cartridge
Gypsy Wanderings
Martha Stewart Classic Woodland Paper Pad
DCWV the glitter cardstock stack
DCWV pre-made cards
Cuttlebug folder Polka Dots
Yellow Ink
Ribbon from Michael's
White Brad
Tag from my stash

Well, thanks for taking a peek at my card and I really hope you have a terrific kind of day!

A "Fast" Wedding Card

Well, I HAD my crafty corner all cleaned up and ready for a lot of company on the 4th of July, when....I had to make this card in a hurry!  You see, we were not going to be able to make it to my DH Cousin's wedding picnic due to his hours at work being extended for shut down this week.  10 hour days, 7 days a week is rough on a mans body.  Plus to top it all off, we host the annual 4th of July family cookout.  Then later we host a lot of friends and family, who come and sit in our front yard and watch the fireworks be put off right across the street from our home.  Needless to say, he is one very tired man.
Anyways, his hours got changed suddenly, so that he got to come home 2 hours early yesterday, and he gives me a call, and says, "Hey, we can go to my cousins wedding reception, how quick can you make a card?"  Well, it took me about 45 min. to reuse a "template" of another card that I just had recently made and just changed it up a bit.
I knew I could not use the Stickles the way I normally do, and I also knew that I wanted to make my own flowers for it too.  So I just used my Stickles ever so lightly, just by rubbing it on the flowers just to give them a little sparkle and that it would not take it long to dry as I made the rest of the card.  This is what I came up with in my "mad" dash of a hurry!  LOL

I used:
A Child's Year Cartridge
DCWV, The Luxury Stack
DCWV the glitter cardstock stack
White Velum Paper
Lime Green Stickles
Pearl stickers
Ribbon from my stash
Martha Stewart corner punch (the name escapes me, sorry)
Tim Holtz Distress stamp pad, Corduroy

Well, thanks for looking and I hope you have a very wonderful 4th of July with friends and family!
