Getting Corny!

Well, it has been a little while since I last posted due to a nice fast family vacation and family reunions and life in general!  I was beginning to feel really guilty about not spending time in my "Craft Corner"!  But life has other plans for us...like this time of year is making creamed corn to put in the freezer for the long winter months. The wonderful results are yummy corn, that tastes like it is fresh off the cob, in the middle of the winter!  MMMMMM!  Well, we did 1 short of 11 dozen ears of corn.  Which made about 27, 2 cup bags of creamed corn, that are now in the freezer.  With a lot of help from my wonderful kids, we got it all done in just about 3 1/2 hours.  The kids worked hard at husking it all for me, while I worked hard in the kitchen over hot corn and scrubbing it all and cutting it all off the cob and packaging it away.  I just thought that I would share a few pictures of what we have been up to lately!

Family Reunion!

Well, as you can see we stayed in a very nice cabin in the middle of the woods, but it was in Hocking Hills, Ohio.

My family and I climbing around on the rocks of Hocking Hills!

Hocking Hills, Ohio on the Old Mans Cave trail.

My wonderful kids working very hard husking the corn!

The end result of what the corn looks like after everything is done!  Lots of work but ohhhh soooo good!  Makes me look forward to winter more!

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you have a very wonderful day!
