Get Well, Pastor

Well, this is for my pastor who was hit by a car, while riding his motor cycle!  He ended up with 5 broken ribs, a broken collar bone and a broken shoulder blade and lots of road rash.  He is currently still in the hospital.  He has already had a rough road to recovery.  With having congestion on his lungs, and not being able to cough because of the pain from the ribs, landed him back in the ICU with very low oxygen levels and shallow breathing.  But through the power of many prayers being heard he has improved greatly in one day!  Praising the Lord for that!  So hopefully he will be able to come home in the very near future.  I know that he has a LONG road to recovery even once he gets home, I just so thankful that it was not alot worse then it could have been.
Anyways, this card is what I made for him right after he went into the hospital.  I wanted something that was masculine yet simple.  I think I was able to capture that!

I used:
Pottpouri Basket Cartridge
The Paper Studio: Mirabelle
DCWV:  the Bon Voyage Travel cardstock stack  ( I ♥♥♥ this paper!)
Stampendous! Stamp from Michael's
Tan and brown ribbon from my stash
"Brown"grommets
Sentiment is computer generated
Brilliance Pearlesent Chocolate ink

Well, thanks for taking a peak, and please keep my Pastor in your prayers as he heals and recovers!

Twisted Anniversary

I know, it has been a while since I posted anything, but I have been VERY busy with life in general! During the summer we seem to try to pack in as much as we possibly can in just a few short months!  I can not believe that summer is now almost over and it is now time for me to start preparing my mind and the kids minds for the beginning of school!  Noooooo!
Either way, I made this card for my sister who just recently celebrated her wedding anniversary!  Woohooo!  She lives so far away, and I can't get as "elaborate" with her cards because they are extra postage. :-(  So, I decided that I was doing some of my flowers anyways for her.  I really enjoy doing handmade flowers.  I need to learn how to make lots more of them!  I also choose to make the twisted easel card because it is different than the traditional style cards.  I think it turned out really nice!  What do you think?

I used:
A Child's Year Cartridge
DCWV: The All Dressed Up Stack (Glittered)
Gray cardstock
White velum paper
Stickles:  Crystal
Reflections Stamp
Delta Dye Based Ink:  Bluebird
Martha Steward corner punch
Blue satin ribbon from my stash

Well thank you stopping by and I hope you have a very
nice day!
