Just A Few Christmas Cards 2014

Hello everyone, I have not been on here for a very long time. Basketball season has started up for my son. Preparations for Thanksgiving and for the Christmas season has already begun here at our home. It has been very cold here and we have gotten about 6-8 inches of snow in the last week. It seems as though winter has begun whether the calendar says it has or not! Brrrr!
Anyways, here is just a few of the Christmas cards I have made so far.

I hope you stay warm wherever you are at.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Pastor Appreciation 2014

Well, as some of you may know, October is Pastor Appreciation Month.  So it is important to acknowledge the pastors in our churches and honor them and their sacrifice for the Lord and their service.  Our church is so blessed to have 2 dedicated men, leading us.  They love the Lord and the people of the church.  It is so wonderful to have men that any moments notice, you can call on them and they will do just about anything to try to help you.  Our church is truly blessed and honored to have them.  Thank You Pastor Mike and Pastor Robert!

Anyways, it was a perfect opportunity to make some very special cards for them. So this is what I came up with for each one.

I used:
Inspired Heart Cricut Cartridge for the front cuts of the bible and the pastor preaching
Elegant Edges Cricut Cartridge for the background cuts

Thank You so much for stopping in!
I hope you have a fantastic day filled
 with lots of blessings!

Wedding Bells

Okay, so I have been busy crafting away at cards and such.  But this card was for someone super special to not just to me but my whole family.  We love this couple so very much.  Well, the bride was my niece and her very handsome groom.  They are very young but he just was deployed right after their wedding.  This is such a scary time to be in the military with so much unrest in our world.  Either way, I had the privilege to make her bouquet and the flower arrangement for her unity candle and to decorate the arch that they stood under for their beautiful outside wedding.  It was a lovely day, lots of sunshine and warm temperatures, (which is unusual for around here!).  We all had a great time!  The bride was beautiful and the groom was very handsome!  So here is just a few pictures of the bride and her flowers that I did and their card I made for them.

 Isn't she lovely!
 Her bouquet!
Their Unity Candle arrangement I made!
Their Card!
I Used:
Elegant Edges Cricut Cartridge for the boarders
Metallic Cardstock Silver/Cream
Making Memories Slice Acetate Brocade for the Background
Adhesive Pearls
Ribbon from my stash
Stamped Sentiment from Michaels

Thanks for taking a look at what has been going on!      And if you think of them, please say a prayer for them both and for our other service people in the military.  Thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic day!

Tree Wedding Anniversary

This is another simple card, that I made for my niece and her hubby's wedding anniversary.  I thought it was such a cute idea to make it look like a tree that someone carved their names in.  It would make a cute wedding/shower card too.  A very simple and quick card to put together.  I hope they liked it!  I know I sure did, it made me smile and remember the time my hubby and I took a walk in the woods behind my in-laws house and carved our initials in a tree.  Just as my ,then boyfriend, finished up, a storm was rolling in and lightning hit the ground just as were walking back to the house.  It was kinda scary.  I wonder if we could find that tree now 21+ years later!

I used:
Brown cardstock/Kraft paper
Darcie Wood grain embossing folder
StazOn brown Ink
Ribbon from my stash
Gel pens for the writing
Stamped Sentiment from Hobby Lobby
Thank you for taking a look at what I have been doing!
I hope you have a fantastic day!

Flocked Wedding Anniversary

Hello!  I made this simple card for my SIL and BIL's wedding anniversary.  As I look back to their wedding day, I think it is still funny that I caught the bouquet and my hubby, who was my boyfriend, caught the garter!  A couple of years later we were married! Those memories still make me smile.    Anyways, this was a very quick and simple card yet it looks so beautiful!  I just loved the paper just the way it was, with just adding a little bit of embellishment of some sparkly rhinestones and some ribbon it was perfect.  I love flocking, it causes you to want to touch it, so it is not just the sense of vision on the card but now it is the sense of touch too.

I used:
DCWV La Crème Stack Paper
Rhinestones from my stash
Black and Ivory ribbon from my stash
Stamped Sentiment from Hobby Lobby

Thank you so much for stopping in and I hope you have a day filled with lots of blessings!

2014 Autumn/Fall Bulletin Board

Here is my Autumn/Fall bulletin board for my church foyer!  I tried to make it look as though the leaves were blowing across it.  Not sure if I succeeded at it or not, but I am happy with it!  I just love the colors of fall.  They are so bright and vibrant.  The trees around here are starting to change and drop their leaves, and it is more cooler at night now too.  I always say that God really shows off His handiwork in the fall!  Anyways, here is the bulletin board!  Enjoy!

Thanks for taking a look at my bulletin board!
May you have a day filled with lots of blessings on this day that the Lord has made!

Autumn Get Well Window

Hello!  I have been insanely busy as of lately and it only seems to be getting worse, at least for part of this week.  I am soooo far behind on making cards for family and friends.  Hopefully I will have time to get some done sometime soon!  It is a love hate relationship with being this busy.  I just get a bit concerned for our health a bit when we get so very busy.  Our bodies do need to rest so that we can stay healthy.
Anyway, this card was for our Pastor, who just had surgery on his kidney's.  He is constantly getting kidney stones, and it has done quite a bit of damage to his body.  So the Dr. did some reconstruction to his body to help with it all.  Poor pastor, is just not healing as quickly as he would like, and keeps getting sick since the surgery.  So we are praying that he will recover here soon so that he can do what he loves to do, and that is caring for the people in the church and beyond.  We as a church are so blessed to have him and his wife with us.  They are both such special people and hard workers for the Lord.

I Used:
Spring Cottage Cricut Cartridge for the window cut
Recollections Fall Harvest Delight Paper Pad for the Background paper
Light Brown Cardstock for the Background paper
Dark Brown Cardstock for the Window frame
Darice Wood Grain Embossing folder for the window frame
Dots on a Line Embossing Folder for the Background
Martha Stewart Pine Branch Punch
Brown and white Bakers Twine
Brown Button from my stash
Stamped Sentiment from Hobby Lobby
Thanks so much for stopping in!
I hope and pray you have a wonderful day
filled with many blessings!

Making Memories Slice Acetate Brocade for the Background

Shaker Birthday

Hello!  This has been an insanely busy week for me.  Thankful that the last few days nothing has been going on in the mornings...but the evenings are a different story.  Whew!  Anyways, on those few quiet mornings, I have found time to make some cards.  So here is the first one.  I designed and redesigned this card in Cricut Craft Room.  A little bit of trial and error, but as you can see, it eventually turned out.  So this card is for my niece who recently had a birthday!  She is all about the sparkle!  Plus, I haven't made a shaker card in a while.  I love the stars for this too!  It just gives this card that little something extra special, just like my niece.

I Used:
Gypsy Font Cricut Cartridge for the words
Old West Cricut Cartridge for the words
Elegant Edges Cricut Cartridge for the frame
DCWV The Glitzy Glitter Stack for the Background paper
Acetate sheets from Office supply store

Silver Wedding Anniversary

Hello again!  Did you miss me and my creations?  LOL  I know, sometimes I don't post for a long while and then all of a sudden I post a bunch of things all at once.  Well, as you can see, I have been busy these last few days.  And there is more to be made!  So I made this beautiful layered card for some childhood friends, who are now celebrating their 25th/Silver Wedding Anniversary.  That is so awesome.  Even though I have not seen them in a very long time, we still have great memories of all of our families growing up together, and the fun we had.  Anyways, her mom sent me a card asking me to send them a anniversary card.  So with the last of my beautiful silver metallic paper this is what I came up with.  I hope they enjoy it!  I think it didn't turn out to bad.

I used:
Wausau Royal Metallics cardstock
Martha Stewart Garden Trellis deep edge punch
Martha Stewart Cherish Hearts edge punch for the center punch "ribbon"
Grey Satin Ribbon
Ranger Liquid Pearls: Silver Pearls
Anniversary stamped sentiment from Hobby Lobby
Again thank you so much for coming on by

newest followers too!
Have a great day!

Blue Birthday

Hello dear followers!  I have been slowly busy working on cards for friends and family.  This card happens to go to an amazing lady, my MIL!  I don't just have a great MIL, but an AMAZING MIL!  You see, her and my FIL, recently decided to become foster parents.  They were given 4 kids right off the bat.  What a handful they have been.  Not just including the "normal" kid stuff but the abuse these kids have had done to them.  It has been really hard to cope with.  You see, my MIL, is with these kids 24/7, my wonderful FIL works about 6 days a week, so he actually gets to get away for a little.  I am so proud of both of them.  They are such Godly examples of God's love and hero's in our eyes.  Either way, she just recently had her birthday, so of course, I had to make her a card with her favorite flowers.  Another simple yet elegant card for a very special lady.

I used:
White Cardstock
DCWV Bouquet De Fleur Stack for the purple
Darice Embossing folder: Large Petals

Daisy flower punches with tips trimmed off and edged in Blue ink
Grey Satin Ribbon

Stickles: Yellow
Stamped Sentiment from Hobby Lobby with Staz On Jet Black Ink
Thank you for taking a look at what I have been up to!
I hope you have a day filled with many blessings!

Purple Anniversary

HI!  I hope everyone is doing well.  Where has the summer gone already!  It is time for everyone to go back to school, including me, the teacher!  I usually have mixed feelings about going back.  Joy in seeing how much the kids have changed mentally and dread of not having freedom to just pick up and go whenever I want like I do during the summer months.  But I look forward to the challenge and the excitement of the new year.  I even get a bit teary eyed on the first day.  Anyways, I pray that God will keep everyone safe this year in their schools, including us that homeschool.
Onto the card!  I made this one for my sister and her hubby and their anniversary.  I know my sister loves purple and flowers.  Keeping it simple and as flat as possible so that it could be mailed without extra postage.  That is really hard for me to do.  I love the layers and the many embellishments.  And sometimes making cards more simple is more elegant too.

I used:
White Cardstock
DCWV Bouquet De Fleur Stack for the purple
Darice Embossing folder: Large Petals
Daisy flower punches with tips trimmed off and edged in purple ink
Grey Satin Ribbon
Ranger Liquid Pearls:  Silver Pearl
Stamped Sentiment from Hobby Lobby with Staz On Jet Black Ink

My First One Sheet Wonder!

Hello!  I needed to make a bunch of cards in a fairly short amount of time, so I thought that a "One Sheet Wonder" would do the trick.  So I found one of the many templates on Pinterest, and got started.  I have never done this before.  It was a little hard to get started, but as I went they got better and much nicer looking.  I tried to keep them simple and as flat as possible so that people would have no issues mailing them.  They were made for my Hubby's family reunion's Elephant auction, to help raise money for next year.  I actually ended up making about 10 cards but the 10th one was not my best.  You could make a whole bunch more or less, it just depends on how or what you do with the pieces.

So here they all are!  OSW, is a great way to get a lot of simple, quick cards in a fairly short amount of time.

A Spot of Tea Birthday

Hello again!  My hubby's grandmother recently celebrated her 85th birthday.  She is so sweet and precious to our family.  Knowing that her eyesight is not the greatest, I wanted to make something recognizable in shape yet something very feminine in style.  So a teapot is what came to mind.  I think she liked it, because she kinda squealed with delight when she saw it!  So cute and precious.

I Used:
A Child's Year for the teapot card and rose cut
Pink/Green Textured cardstock
DCWV The Shimmer Stack for the blue rose cut
DCWV Banquet De Fleur Stack
My Time Made Easy Stamps
Black and White Bakers Twin
Pink Heart Shaped Brad

Shimmery Blue Anniversary

Hello again!  In the midst of all the craziness, I made a anniversary card for my wonderful in-laws.  They are such a blessing to us all and such an encouragement too.  What a great example of God's love to all that come in contact with them.  They have recently taken on the wonderful challenge of being foster parents.  As if that is not is not amazing on its own, they went from being empty nesters to foster parents to 4 children all under the age of 7 years old.  The youngest was less than 3 months old.  They are truly an amazing couple.  It has not been easy at all, and we have all come to love these children as if they have always been a part of our family.  Our own children love these kids a lot.   When they do get to go back home to their parents, it is going to very hard to let them go.  Anyways, they got to get away for a few hours to celebrate their anniversary!  This is the card I made for them.  It is simple but when you don't have a "scoreboard" it took a little bit if figuring out to get those crisscross lines.  Plus the shimmery paper is a heavy cardstock and it did not want to score at all.  Either way, I think it turned out very nice.  I love the gray and blue contrast!

I Used:
Blue Pearl Cardstock
DCWV The Shimmer Stack for the BG paper
Martha Stewart Scalloped Corner Punch
Gray Statin Ribbon from my stash
Stamped Sentiment from Hobby Lobby
Silver Liquid Pearls

Red, White and Blue Birthday

HI!  This time of  year is a very busy time for me and my family!  We live in such a great location, for the 4th of July festivities.  We are directly across where they put on a great 5 day carnival and on the 4th the wonderful fireworks show.  We do a lot of work of cleaning up and preparing to have a large picnic here at our home.  Lots of people come by and visit and sit in our yard to enjoy the fireworks.  It is a lot of work but so much fun and excitement.  Our kids love having so many friends and family stop by and just the fun of it all.  Either way because of all the labor and fun, and having to keep my craft area cleaned up, I was a bit delayed on getting some cards done until after all the other things were done.  So needless to say some family members got their birthday cards a bit late this year.  Plus when they have birthdays so close to the 4th, all I can think about is Red, White and Blue!  So here is a simple and quick cards that I made up.  I think it turned out pretty nice!  They are both the same card but with one slight difference.  See if you can spot the difference!  This card is very gender neutral too.

I used:
Stand and Salute Cricut Cartridge for the star cuts
White and Blue Cardstock
Stars Embossing Folder
Red Ribbon from my stash
Stickles
Stamp Sentiment from Hobby Lobby

Did you see the slight difference?

Graduation Card

So from my previous post of the Graduation Jar, you have to make a card to go with it, so that the recipient knows who it is from.  Sounds like a good enough excuse to play in paper, right?  Anyways that is exactly what I did.  She needed a card because the jar could get broken in her haste and need for candy!  LOL  So a card is something that she can keep and store away more easily along with the rest of her graduation cards.  So this is what I came up with.  What I forgot to take a picture of is how the "Cap" part lifts up.  That is where I put the "Message", but you could just as easily put it on the back of the card, too.  Quick and simple.

I Used:
Blackletter Cricut Cartridge for the numbers
Black and white cardstock
Blue Iridescent Cardstock
Blue and Silver and Black Ribbon from my Stash
White tassel from Hobby Lobby
Blue Glitter brad from Stampin' Up!

Graduation Jar

I just got back from a trip celebrating my niece's graduation and open house.  It was fun yet very busy helping my sister get everything ready for the open house.  Most importantly it was great spending time with my family.  Before we left though, I had to make a gift and a card for my wonderful niece.  So I wanted to do something fun and yet creative for her.  So I again saw an idea on Pinterest of making a candy jar and hiding the gift/money in the middle of all of the candy.  So as if the candy was not enough of a distraction I had to take it a step farther and decorate the jar up with vinyl using my Cricut.  And also as if this wasn't enough, I used a large 1 gallon "pickle" jar.  Whew, that was a lot of candy and fun!  Vinyl is fun and fairly easy to work with once you figure it out.  Sometimes I get to the point of "what else can I put vinyl on"!  LOL  Anyways, here is what I did up the jar before putting in the gift and candy!  Very simple and yet fun looking!

I Used:
Blackletter Cricut Cartridge for the numbers
Cricut Craft Room Basics Cricut Cartridge for the Letters and welded them together
Create A Critter Cricut Cartridge for the Owl
Everyday Paper Dolls Cricut Cartridge for the diploma and graduation cap
Red/Black/White/Orange Vinyl
Heat tool to smooth out and help the vinyl stick better
Googley Eyes for the owl

Celebrate Dad!

Nothing like waiting till the last minute to get my Father's Day cards done and in the mail!  Yikes!  I guess, they will receive them after Father's Day.  It is the thought that counts, Right?  I love having an excuse to make cards and all the fathers around us on Father's day is a great reason to make them.  I used a lot of different things in the making of these cards.  They were simple and quick to make, once I figured out the paper choices and such.   I have about 3 more to make yet, so I need to go get busy in my little crafty corner!
