Thinking of You!

Ok ,I know it its a miracle, especially posting twice in less than a week...but I am on a roll right now.  I go on Pinterest and see tons of beautiful cards and drool and almost get overwhelmed after a while.  Now, I am having tons of card ideas bombarding my sleep, and as you know, that is where my best cards come from.  That half asleep state, is where my cards are created, and if I don't come down and make them right away, I forget what it was.  Kinda like a dream, if you don't write it down or tell someone right away, it is quickly forgotten.  Well, these cards have been in the works for a few days along with a bunch of other half done cards...I am sure that I am the only one with that problem!

Well, these cards are the same but opposites in colors!  Plus, I have found this really unique stamping technique that is called, Spotlight stamping!  Really cool!  I thought I would give it a try, and I liked it so much that I ended up making two.  I don't know which card I like most...one minute I like the pink and the next I like the blue one...Oh well!

I used:
Gypsy Wanderings Cartridge for the green scroll like leaves behind the flowers
Spellbinders Nestabilities Lacy Squares
Core' Dinations cardstock for card base and also the lacy squares
Me & My BIG Ideas specialty cardstock
DCWV The Linen Closet Stack (I LOVE this paper!)
Grafix Vellum paper for the flowers
Stampin' Up (purchased years ago at a yard sale)
Stickles:  Cotton Candy and blue
Ribbon and Lace from my stash
Rhinestones from my stash

Thank You so much for stopping by and checking out what I have been doing!  Have a wonderful day!

Turning 13 You Are!

Well, I now officially have two teenage children in my home!  Isn't that wonderful!  We celebrated his birthday a few days early, with family and friends.  I think he had a great time.  For whatever reason my camera did not like me at all that day.  So most of the pictures are a little blurry.  Very frusterating...RRRR!
Anyways, lets talk about his card.  Did you know that you can get tons of free printable coloring pages, and put them on a document into a text box and make them the size that you need it to be....  That is what all the images are on this card, just simple free printable coloring pages!  So cool!  I don't know of anyone that makes stamps or digi stamps of "Star Wars" characters, at all.   Well, as you can see I improvised, so that he could have "Yoda" on his card.
He later came and told me that, "This was the coolest card I have made!"
I would say he loved it, and was very happy with it!

I used:
Green Pre-made Card
Making Memories Wedding Paper Pad
Cuttlebug Polka Dot Folder
Google search for free printable coloring images for both Yoda, and the Light Sabers
Green Ribbon from Michael's
Copic Markers & Water Color Pencils
Crystal Effects from Stampin' Up on the Light Sabers
White stamp pad to highlight the dry embossing

My 13 year old son!  Happy Birthday, Nathan!

Well, thank you so much for stopping in, and enjoy the wonderful spring days!

Get Well

This has been a very long and exhausting week for my family. And I am so glad things are now finally settling down some.  Let me explain what has been going on.   My dad had to have a heart Catheterization done and then he had have a stint put in.  That was on Monday, then after the surgery his Dr. informs us that he has gone ahead and scheduled him for his hernia surgery for Wednesday, and he will stay in the hospital and will be transferred to the other hospital till then.  Then they released him on Tuesday evening late, and he went home that night and then on Wednesday morning, he went back to the other hospital for his hernia surgery.  Before his surgery that day he was having a bit of tummy troubles, and we all just thought it was due to just nerves or side effects from bad hospital food or something.  Well, he went and had his surgery done and seemed to be doing just fine in recovery.  But because he was just put on blood thinners and had, had a heart Cath. done, they wanted to keep him overnight.  Then things got a bit scary for us all.  When he was finally transferred from one bed to the other, he got really sick, he ran a fever and was throwing up and feeling very light headed.  Poor guy...  He was really sick.  But praise God for friends and family who were praying for him, because those prayers were heard and answered in a wonderful way.  The next morning, he was doing just fine and no more fever and throwing up.  I just praise God for answered prayers!  We expected that they would not discharge him until late that evening, but he was discharged that morning!  He is now home resting comfortably in his own easy chair and bed!  I am so glad that he is okay and mom can rest too.  Still am praying for healing and recovery with no problems for him though.

Anyways, I said all of that to share the "Get Whale" card I made for him.  I know you probably have seen this style of card before but I am pleased at how well it turned out and wanted to share it with you all.

I used:
Everyday Paper Dolls Cartridge for the waves
Gypsy Wanderings Cartridge for the Whale
Cuttlebug Folder: Polka Dots
3 Shades of blue cardstock
Gray Cardstock
Yellow Cardstock
1 inch circle punch and then I snipped around the edge to make the sunshine
DCWV The Spring Stack for the BG paper
Stickles:  Turquoise, for the whale's water spouting
Light blue ribbon from my stash
Green I-rock gems
And the sentiment was computer generated

Well thank you so much for taking a quick peek at what has been going on in my life lately.
I hope you all have a great day!

Praying for You/Thinking of You!

A very special lady in our church has received a awesome job opportunity and is moving far away.  She has no family where she is going and is a bit scared, but yet very excited, too.  She will be greatly missed in our church.  So this week is her last time with us in church so we are having a special meal and cake as a kind of like going away party.  So I wanted to give her a special card from just my family just to let her know that she is and will be in our prayers and thoughts as she makes this huge change in her life.  I am very pleased how this card turned out.  My pictures just don't do it justice at all.  Dark, cloudy, windy days here in Ohio no sunshine, so that doesn't help at all with my pictures.

I used:
Cuttlebug Folder from the Love's in the Air pack
Martha Stewart Punch:  Lattice
DCWV The Linen Closet Stack for the BG paper
Tim Holtz Distress Ink Brushed Corduroy
Pebbles Chalk for the extra little bit of sparkle on the chandelier
Paper Flower from my stash
Red Satin and black Ribbon ribbon from my stash
I-rock gems
Stickles

Thank you so much for stopping by and taking a quick peek at what I have been up to lately.
I hope you have a wonderful day!

Loads of Fun Birthday!

Hey dear followers, I hope everyone is doing great.  Here in Ohio, we are having crazy weather.  One day it is in the 60's and the next we are having high winds and snow!  Keeps you on your toes right???

This card has a story, I hope you like stories!  I made it for my BIL, and it caused a lot of laughter from me.  So in the wee hours of the morning after my hubby left for work, I stayed up and enjoyed the silence of our home.  That is when I do my best work, when the house is quiet, which is very rare when you have 3 kids.  Anyways, I decided to make a wagon full of the words "fun".  So as after I had cut out all these tiny words "fun", the fun began.  I would move a piece of paper and it would cause the the words to fall/move around on the table...and I would say, "Oh no my fun is getting blown away!"   Or I would misplace them and that would cause me to say to myself, "Where did the fun go!"  I started laughing at myself and wishing my kids were around to hear the "fun" I was having. It went on like that the whole time I made it.  What a great story I had to tell my kids when they got up that morning!  It was fun!  0.0   Oh well, when you are sleep deprived, apparently strange things happen and you tend to get a little silly!  I can truly say that I had fun making this card!

I used:
A Child's Year Cartridge for the Wagon
Sweet Treats Cartridge for the word "Fun"
Plantin SchoolBook Cartridge for the grass with flowers
Blue Cardstock
DCWV The Spring Stack for the BG paper
Flower Soft for the Grass and the the flowers

Stickles
Some pennies
Dimensional Dots

I hope you enjoyed my little story of fun!
 Have a terrific day!

Valentiny Cards for Daddy!

Hey everyone, I hope everyone is doing well!  I have been really busy and just haven't had the time to get in my crafting corner as of lately.  But I just wanted to share what my kids and I did for their Daddy on Valentine's Day.  As I said in my post with my Valentine card, I wanted to put my card in his lunch box.  Then I decided that all of us would make a card to put in his lunch box.  Well, we scrambled around the day before Valentine's, trying to get 3 little cards made after school and before their Daddy came home from work.  Whew, what a task!  I had to help a little with each one, but for the most part, they did them all on their own.  We got them done and had to hide them somewhere that I would have easy access to them when I packed his lunch the next morning!   After that he came home and such, and as we were packing the leftovers from dinner into a bowl that would fit into his lunchbox for the next day...he informs me that he does not need a lunch for the next day (Valentine's Day), because work was having a special meal for them.  Agggghhh!  Now what do I do???  Well, lucky for me he still needs to take some kind of breakfast food, because he leaves so very early in the morning.  So the time came to pack his lunch, and I realized I was out of his "normal" breakfast item and he says to me, "I will be fine without breakfast, or I can get something from the machine....NOW WHAT do I do???  So then I did come up with some kind of breakfast item for in his lunch and made it so he HAD to take his lunch box, and I successfully got his cards into his lunch without him knowing!  Yeaaaaa!  Whew!  I never knew that it was so much work to sneak cards into a lunch box!  LOL  Anyways, he enjoyed getting them and was pleasantly surprised!  So now that I shared with you all my challenges of trying to do something special for my hubby, here are the cards that they made.

Thanks for stopping in and
I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Happy Decade!

I have a really big problem that can lead to insomnia for me!  Creativity as I am going to sleep or during my sleeping is a problem...I laid in bed worrying about all the things I needed to get done before my daughter's 10 birthday party.  Knowing that I had to find time without her around to get her card done, and I only have just a couple of days.  I had the basic idea but I did not know how I was going to do it was the problem.  Well, last night I was very tired and wanted to got to bed early!  Then it happened!  Thank goodness for the Gypsy!  I laid there in bed flopping around and more ideas of creativity came to my mind...and I knew if I didn't get up and start creating it, at least on my Gypsy, I would forget or never get any sleep!  So this was the plan and how it all came about.

You may ask, "Why did you do a house for a little girl?"  And, "Why does it say Happy Decade, instead of Happy 10th Birthday?"  Well, I am so glad you asked!

First I will start with the house idea.  At Christmas my sweet, soon to be 10 years old, in a couple of days, received a much wanted doll house for Christmas.  She was delighted!   She already knew what color she wanted the outside to be and what color the door is going to be and such.  All very planned out, just moments from opening the kit with her Daddy.  Well, once Daddy and her saw how many pieces there are and what all they have to do, they soon began the task of painting it with a coat of primmer and such.  They have dreamed up so really great ideas and now they just have to make them a reality!  So that is my inspiration to why the house!  As you can tell, she wants her house to be a reddish color with a white front door!  Plus, I bought for her birthday, a miniature dog with a dog bed and food, for the doll house.  So that is why the dog on the porch!

Okay, now to answer the decade question.  Well this same sweet, soon to be 10 year old, is full of love and laughs, and hugs and lots of personality, she says on New Year's eve/day right after we had just watched the ball drop on T.V.,  "I am turning 10 this year, so I want everyone to say Happy Decade, not Happy 10th birthday!"  She was very serious!  Boy did she get a laugh from all of us!  She is so funny and always ready to laugh at anything.  She is still holding to that idea though, so much so, that her birthday cake even says that, too.
So there you have it!  A long story/reason, to why!  I hope I didn't bore you to sleep, but I just wanted to share it with you all.

I used:
Winter Woodland Cartridge for the House
Plantin SchoolBook Cartridge for the flowers
Everyday Paper Dolls Cartridge for the bike

Paper Doll Dress Up Cartridge for the picket fence and the grass
Gray and black and yellow card stock for the basic card and the roof and the windows
Core'dinations Super Assortments Sandable Card stock for the red house front
Dimensional tape
Red, silver, and black Stickles on the bike
Green Copic Marker for the window treatments
Flower Soft:  Delphinium Blue, Sweet Pea and Meadow
Gold brad for the door knob
Paper flowers and iridescent rhinestone from my stash
The sentiment is computer generated
