Whoa Horsey...

Today is my youngest DD's 9th birthday! WAAAAA! ;-( Where has the time gone...this is her last single digit birthday!  Well, she has developed a love for horses, and so I made her a card with one and covered it with lots of glimmer mist!  She is so girly, and I love that about her!  I used my Gypsy to make this card.  It made it easy to line things up and to make the saddle just the right size for the horse without wasting paper and cuts and even time.  The more I use my gypsy the more I love having one.  Well, I hope you like what you see!

Romantic Ruby Anniversary!

My cousins sent out a letter asking people it they would particapate in a "Card Shower" for my Aunt and Uncle, since it was their 40th anniversary.  So I did some research and found that the 40th anniversary is about the "ruby".  So thus the inspiration for the red theme!  I wanted to go for the "vintage" look. Plus, I found that I can make my own glimmer mist, and now everything has to have it! LOL  So if you look really close, you can see all the paper and flowers are a little shimmery. Enjoy and thanks for looking!

A Late Birthday Card!

I made this birthday card for my BIL who lives down in Mississippi!  The problem was that, Christmas and and the stomach flu (the week of Christmas), then we went to my other sister's home the week after Christmas in PA., for Christmas, then came home for New Years only to have everyone come down with really bad colds and fevers, which lasted for about 2 weeks.  It was just never ending for us, or so it seemed  Sooooo, the result was that he did not get his card on time!  :-(  Either way he was thrilled even if it was late!  LOL  But as someone once said, "Better Late than never".  Right?  Oh well, he was promised a card and he got one!  Oh did I mention, this was my first time using my new, Christmas gift from my hubby, the Cuttle Bug!  Woohooo!  I love it and am so excited about using it and discovering all the possibilities with it!

My First Challenge: LFIF Challenge - Thank you cards

Here is my first attempt at doing a Challenge!  I had to make a "Thank You" Card using PKS!  I freehanded my chocolate kiss shape and the face stamp from PKS. Then I used my CB to do the embossed paper behind it.  Thanks PK for the chance to be a part of this.  I think this one turned out great!  I am just not sure who will get it! Well enjoy, and no droolling on your screen for the kiss!  LOL

Deer Father in Law Birthday Card!

Opps, I almost forgot to post this.  My Father in Law has been out hunting alot lately and has yet to get "the BIG one"!  So I thought that I would give him an image of what a big one looks like!  LOL  He really loved that "Curly" antlers!  Either way, it seems like if you go hunting for deer here in Ohio, there has to be snow on the ground and freeeeezing cold temperatures.  Well, thanks for looking!

A Snowy, Happy Birthday Card From Ohio!

I made a birthday card for my nephew who lives in Sunny California...I did not know what to make for a card for him...so this is what I came up with...my inspiration was all the snow we got this week and the kids playing outside in it.  Fun!  Plus, when I sent him a message, I asked him if he missed the snow, and his reply was that he kinda did.  If only we could have the snow with a lot warmer tempuratures!  LOL  Either way, enjoy looking my few followers and have a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year!

A Few of His Favorite Things!

My Dad's birthday was this week so here is his card with just a few of his favorite things...His Tractor, his dogs and snow.  The cool thing was that on his birthday we got snow.  I think it was a b-day gift for him from God.  LOL  Either way, this one was a lot of little piece work but fun.  I think when my dad opened it he choked back a few tears before he could look up at us.  He is so special to me, and of course so is my mom!

My Mom's birthday card

Tomorrow is my Mom's birthday and so this is the card I made for her.  She has always liked birds especially cardinals.  And they always looks so beautiful in the winter in the trees covered in snow...so that was kinda my inspiration.  The camera just does not do it justice, but a little of glitter snow paint and some embossing make it sparkle and shine.  I am sure she will love it.  Next week is my Dad's birthday and so I have to come up with another card for a guy.  So between now and then I am going to be "brainstorming" for and idea for him.

I changed my mind!

Well, I was not planning on doing handmade Christmas cards this year.  We have been soooo very busy and I just did not want to take the time.  BUT, I had a few people who were a little disappointed, so I guess I gave in and took the time.  Thank goodness for my kids helping me.  By the day was over we did about 18 cards.  The fun part is that no two are the same.  I loved watching my kids come up with different ideas and they ran with it.  I helped with either getting them stamped or assembling their ideas.  Sometimes with a little tweeking.  But over all they were their ideas.  I only did about 3 cards the rest were theirs.  So since we homeschool our kids, today was "art class", which is a great way to break up the routine/rut of school.  A welcome change.  I think they all turned out wonderful.
