Welcome Home

I am a homeschool mom so I very rarely get away from my kids, and they very rarely get away from me. Well, my oldest was gone for about 5 days. That is the longest she has ever been away from home. Her younger siblings have missed her so much and are waiting impatiently for her to arrive home. Anyways, to welcome her home we made a pennant banner and hung it across her dresser mirror for when she gets home! This is my first time ever making one of these, so it is not the greatest but I don't think I did to bad. Also, it was my first time to make a crepe paper/party streamer rosette, not to bad on those either. I think with those, the more I did them the better I got. The funny thing was she did not see it as soon as she came into her room.  We must have looked odd standing there waiting for her to notice.  She said later that she noticed we were just standing in her room with an odd look on our faces and so she started looking around to see what we did!  LOL   To funny!  Glad we didn't have to wait to long!  She loved it and it is still hanging there.  We all really missed her and her joyful personality that she brings into our home.  I am so glad she made it home safely and yet had a great time while she was away.

 I used:
Plantain Schoolbook Cricut cartridge for the circles
Simply Sweet Cricut cartridge For the flower cuts
Stand and Salute Cricut cartridge  for the Pennant shapes
K&Company Life's Journey Designer Paper
K&Company Amy butler Designer paper
DCWV The Glitzy Glitter Stack  (LOVE this paper)
Blue and bright green carstock
Pre cut letter from my stash
Crepe paper/party streamers

Father's Day Fun!

OK, I have been extremely busy as of lately...I thought that once summer came things would slow down just a bit.  Right???  Well, we have gone on a quick vacation to Michigan to Greenfield Village and the Henry Ford Museum.  AWESOME and a lot of fun and walking!  Great hotel too!  Then 2 weeks later we went on another trip to my sister's to see my nephew graduate and enjoy his open house.  Then we all got sick and now it is Father's Day.  Whew, that is just exhausting, just typing this and thinking about it.  YAWN, I think I need a LONG nap.

Anyways, I hope you all are having a wonderful Father's Day with family and friends or even just reflecting on how blessed you were or are to have a  great dad in your life.  I know my dad was not perfect but he sure was and is alot of fun to have around.  I am truly blessed that he loves the Lord, too.

My father in law is alot of fun too. And again I am so glad that he loves the Lord and took the time to teach  my wonderful hubby about Him.

And now my children are so blessed to have a great Daddy who is passing the love for Jesus down to them.  His is a big kid at heart and is almost always ready to play with them or share something funny with them.  I am the most blessed wife and mother on this earth!

Okay, moving on to my purpose for my post.  My hubby received his gifts first thing this morning before church.  Then later today after church, we had both of our Dad's over to our house for lunch along with some family too.  We had a great time playing some corn hole and just visiting.  Then I gave the Dad's their gifts.  I did not make them cards this year or any boxes or...this time I went a little crazy.  You know the old saying, "The way to a man's heart is through his stomach"  Well, not that I needed to steal their hearts at all but I just wanted to do something fun and more "Guy like".  I have seen this idea many times through the years and have always wanted to do something like this but never got around to it.  You know how that is don't you?  Well, I rediscovered it on Pinterest this year.  And decided that this was the year.  So I made all the Dads that could be at our house today, a candy bouquet!  MMMM!  I didn't just do all candy, I added some peanuts, and crackers, and cookies too.  Some candy was chocolate and some was fruity.  I love how they all turned out and they were so easy to do.  Just a little hot glue and some small wooden sticks and a container to put it all into on a piece of styrofoam and a bow, with a few decorations and next thing you know you have a candy bouquet!

I think they liked them.  I know my hubby loved his.  So here is some pictures of them!

This is my hubby's bouquet and him with it!

 My Father in Law's bouquet!

 My Dad's bouquet!

This one was smaller and for a dear friend who lives to far away from his child.

This one is also smaller for my sister in laws boyfriend.

My wonderful hubby and Father in law having fun with the mustaches that were in their bouquets.

This one is just to funny of my father in law!

My dad having fun with the mustache and a bow tie!

My Father in law with his candy bouquet!

I think these were a big hit with all of the Dad's.  We all had a great time and they really enjoyed playing with them too.

Well, thanks for taking a look and seeing what I have been doing as of lately.  I will share my Father's day cards that I sent out in the mail,  later once I know they have all received them.  Better late then never, right!

Take care and have a wonderful day!

Mother's Day Gifts

Happy Mother's Day to any Mom's who are reading this!  Or if you are reading this later after Mother's Day, I hope you had a wonderful day celebrating your Mother or being a Mother!  I know I had a great day celebrating Mother's Day with my families and two very special Mom's in my life.  We had a great dinner with lots of food and tons of yummy desserts!  Some gift giving, and such!

Anyways, I waited till the last minute to get cracking on making my "something special" for the two moms in my life.  Nothing like procrastinating, right?  Like two days before Mother's Day, procrastinating!   Plus, I was having the WHOLE family over to celebrate with us and to pamper our Moms.  Anyways, I made them paper teapot boxes from My Time Made Easy, Tea For You templates, with a little tweaking to them.  Lots of time, paper, glue and love went into these.  The flowers are hand made, which are so very simple to make!  I am fairly pleased with how they turned out!  I filled each one with a bunch of chocolates and some small and pretty smelling hand sanitiser.  I think they likes them!

Cheeseburger Birthday!

Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing well and keeping busy!  I know I sure am!  My sweet first baby just turned 15 yesterday!  I can't believe that I have a child that old and where does time go?  My husband used to say, "Time flies when your having fun!"  I am not sure about the word "fun", I think I would change it to something like, "Time flies when your busy!" She is such a blessing and joy to me...I think with her being so grown up and mature, it helps me not to be so crazy.  I can have "grown up" conversations with her like I was talking to an adult.  She has always been one to leave a good impression on people, so much so that even when she was little, people knew me as Elizabeth's mom more than by my own name.  I am so glad that God choose me to be her mother.  What a gift she is to me!
Now onto the story of the card! Way back at Christmas time I was busy working on my Christmas cards and cut out a shaped card with my Cricut and my youngest daughter says, "Hey Mommy, the shape of that card looks like a cheeseburger."  That is when it hit me, that it would be a perfect card for my oldest daughter, who LOVES cheeseburgers.  She loves them like I love pizza.  We could eat them every day!  LOL  So when her birthday came around, I somehow remembered what I was going to make her and where the shaped card was.  First, I was going to make it as a shaped card then I realized that the card would open upside down, so that won't work.  So then, I decided to mount it on a larger card base and put the little extras with it!  I LOVE how it all turned out!  She loved it too!  It made her laugh and smile really big!  It looks yummy too!

I used:
A Child's Year Cricut Cartridge for the card shape
Sweet Treats Cricut cartridge for the ketchup oozing out
Mulberry Paper (for the Lettuce)
Meadow Flower Soft (also for the Lettuce)
Paper is from years of a small collection that I had and is not attached with any label
I-rock gems
Ribbon from Michael's (I think)
Dimentional dots

Thank You so much for stopping by and I hope I didn't make you hungry!
Have a great day!

Lots of Pink for a Baby Girl!

Hey everyone, I hope you are all doing really well!  Some friends/neighbors of our just recently had a sweet baby girl this week!  So naturally, I had to make them a card to celebrate with them!  So, I knew I wanted to make one using the sweet, Kate's ABCs Cricut Cartridge and LOTS of pink and a little bit of lace and sparkles!  I think it turned out pretty cute!  I love all the different pinks that I found in my drawers.  I was just saying to my daughter, that I don't have a lot of pink papers...well I started to look and found some.  Still thinking I need to go get more, of course!  I know, I know!  Hi, my name is Beth and I am addicted to paper!  LOL  I can't help it, I love that stuff, and the possibilities are endless!  0.0

I used:
Kate's ABCs Cricut Cartridge
DCWV The Sweet Stack
Martha Stewart Lattice Punch
Flower Soft
Ribbon and Lace from my stash
The Sun was two different punches
Stickles
I-rock gems

16 and Beautiful!

Why, oh why, do kids have to grow up?  My niece just turned 16 this week.  Ugh!  Makes me feel old!
Anyways, I couldn't post her card here until she received it, because she seems to be a faithful follower.  Plus, she has taken an interest in card making herself.  She received a personal Cricut for a Christmas present this past year, and is doing very well with putting it to use.  She will probably put me to shame in her talent as she continues to learn to use it and make cards.  I love seeing what she comes up with each time she makes a new card.  And I have had the joy of exposing her to the "Cricut" world of card making and I think she is liking it!
I love how this card turned out, kinda grown up yet still youthful looking and fun...The dress is completely made out of ribbon.  The white is is a very wide ribbon, and the red polka dotted ribbon is actually two different ones.

I used:
Forever Young Cartridge for the dress form
Love's in the Air Cuttlebug folder
White & Black Cardstock
I-rock and gems
Red stickles
Ribbon from Michael's and Hobby Lobby

Thank you so very much for taking a peak at this card!
I hope you all have a blessed day!

Best Wishes for your future...

I have a bridal shower coming up next week and I wanted to try the white on white technique...boy that is hard.  As you can see, I failed at doing all white!  LOL  What can I say, " I love color!"  Anyway, I succeeded at making it look soft yet elegant.  So I guess you could say I am pleased with it!

I used:
Cuttlebug and the Stylized Flowers folder
White and pink cardstock
I-rock and gems
Cotton Candy Stickles
Pebbles Chalk
Ribbon from Michael's

Thanks for taking a look at my work!  Have a great day!
