Another Quilted Maple Leaf

Okay, okay, I know that your saying this looks just like the last one...Well if you look again the direction of the papers are different and the papers are somewhat different, too.  Let me explain why I did another one.  You may or may not understand, I am sure no has ever done this.  Have you ever made something for someone, and then find out that you need a card for someone else that you forgot about or didn't know it was their birthday/anniversary/whatever else?  Well, this is kinda what happened, I loved the previous card a lot and planned on it maybe going to my BIL.  "Maybe", is the key work here!  Well, I found out that it was a very special young ladies birthday this past week, and I wanted to send her a card, so I needed something quick.  So the previous card went to her, especially since this type of card is kinda gender neutral.  I did add a bow to it, to make it a little more feminine.  So now I had a good excuse to make another card like this and be able to change it up a bit.  These cards are so very easy to make and I think it took me just an hour to make this one, and that is a record for me! :-) I added a little bit of orange to it to make it a bit brighter...this may not go to my BIL though...I do have other birthdays coming up too.  Still not sure who is going to get this one, yet!  LOL  Like I said before, I have a hard time making decisions sometimes...okay, a lot of times!  LOL

I used:
Spellbinders Maple Leaf Die

DCWV The Natural Stack paper
DCWV Glittered stack for the brown glitter paper
I-Rock gems
Stamped Sentiment from Hobby Lobby
Ribbons from my stash

Thanks again for stopping in and seeing what
I have done now!
I hope you have a great day!

Birthday Leaf

Hello!  Okay, I have never tried this before and it just kinda came to me.  Maybe, in my sleep, like usual! LOL  I think this is technique is called quilted paper.  Not sure!? I just could not resist to add just a hint of sparkle to this card.  I am very pleased how it turned out.  I think this may go to my BIL, but I am not sure on that either.  LOL  Decisions, decisions!  I joke around that my husband and I are two of the most indecisive people you will ever meet!  This one is so easy!  What I really am working up to is the actual quilting technique where you really make and cut squares.  I am saving that for my Mom's birthday next month.  I just feel like making a bunch of cards and being in my crafty corner these days.  Might be the cooler weather and the trees really starting to change colors and dropping their leaves...feels like Thanksgiving!  LOL

I used:
Spellbinders Maple Leaf Die
DCWV The Natural Stack paper
DCWV Glittered stack for the brown glitter paper
I-Rock gems
Stamped Sentiment from Hobby Lobby
Ribbon from my stash
Thank you so much for stopping by
and I hope you have a fantastic day!

Anniversary Secret Box

I finally got to celebrate my parents 47th Anniversary with them.  My mom was actually pretty sick on the day of their anniversary and it took her a few days to recover from it.  So we waited patiently, and made plans with them for the next week.  So while I waited, I decided to make them a "Secret Box".  I have admired them and looked at them and just finally decided to take the plunge.  With some trial and error, I finally got one assembled and made them one.  You know the saying, "if all else fails, read the directions", yep that is me,  I just jumped in to fast and didn't look at the instructions/videos first all the way through.  Ugggg!  Either way, I am fairly pleased at how well it turned out.  I know they really enjoyed it.  My dad seemed to really realize that these boxes take me a lot of time, but just doesn't quite understand that it is a labor of love.  It is not a labor at all, it is a joy because first of all, I love them very much, also I get to play in my paper, doing something I really enjoy.  I am so blessed to have such a Godly example of love and that they are still together after so many years.

I used:
Red cardstock for the box and the rosettes and flowers
Making Memories Wedding paper pad
Martha Stewart Scalloped edge punch for the rosettes
Martha Stewart Hydrangea punch for the flowers
1" circle punch for on top of the rosettes
I-Rock gems for the center of the flowers

This is after I LOADED it down with LOTS of goodies,
that is why the little boxes are sagging so much.
I forgot to get a picture of it empty!  When it was empty the little boxes stayed straight just fine, but when you add a bunch of goodies it starts to sag a bit.  Oh well that won't last long thought!  LOL

I think they both liked it!

It's LOVE even after 47 years!

Well, thank you so much for stopping in and seeing just a glimpse of my family life!
I hope you have a blessed day!

Floral Heart Anniversary!

Well, this card is really simple, yet I think it is very elegant.  It is going to my parents who will be celebrating their 47th Anniversary!  They have had their ups and downs but they have been a great example to me.  As much as I don't want to admit that they are getting up in years, they really are.  I hate seeing them get "old" and struggle with things that they never did before, like their health, especially.  But I am so proud of them for staying married and loving each other and loving God so much to pass that down to me.

I used:
Plantain SchoolBook Cricut Cartridge
Making Memories Wedding paper pad
2 different shades of red cardstock
Martha Stewart Hydrangea Flower Punch
Christmas red stickles
I-Rock Gems
Gray Satin Ribbon from Michael's
Sentiment Stamp from Michael's

Here is a side picture of the heart and flowers so you can see the dimension.

Well, thank you so much for taking a peek at what I have been doing!
I hope you have a day filled with many blessings.

Sparkly 16th Birthday

Hello!  I hope you all are doing great and staying warm as Fall is here.  Here in Ohio we are under a frost warning for tonight.  Wow, I love fall and colors of the trees and all the fun festivities that come with the preparation of the cooler weather.  Today was one of those days with a fall like party, for my wonderful niece!  Today she turned 16!  She is very special to my family.  She comes and spends a lot of time with us and we really enjoy her.  Well, today we had a party for her and celebrating her and spoiling her!  Anyways, I wanted to make something really special for her and make it very girly.  So I came up with the idea for the card and then the bag with her favorite chocolates in it.  The problem is that she is so special to me that I finally broke down and used a bunch of my favorite papers.  Have you ever had some special paper that you love so much you just can't bring yourself to use.  Well, that is this paper!  I have used it in few little projects but not like this.  I really enjoyed doing this for her and I know she really loved it all!

I used:
DCWV The Glitzy Glitter Stack (LOVE this paper)
Making Memories Wedding paper
Forever Young Cricut Cartridge for the girl, shoes, and the background papers
Tags, Bags, Boxes & More Cricut Cartridge for the bag
Gypsy Font Cricut Cartridge for the numbers
Sweet Treats Cricut Cartridge for the flowers
Martha Stewart Punch for the Back Ground papers corners
Blue Stickles
Blue Ribbon from my stash
Rhinestone Brad in the center of the one flower, from my stash

Well, thanks for stopping by and I hope you

Fall, Thinking of You!

Hello everyone...it is starting to get cold here in Ohio and the daylight hours are getting shorter.  At night we have seen a whopping 42 degrees.  Brrrr!  I hate to see the summer season go but I do love the cooler weather and I LOVE the fall colors that God gives us to see His glory.

Anyways, I made this card for a friend of the family who has been really struggling with being sick.  And has had a recent diagnoses of Colitis.  She is so young and has been told that she has a rare kind of it and that there is really no treatment for it.  She has just recently gotten married and has a young family.  I just wanted to send her a card to let her know that she is being thought of and that people around her are praying for her.  So naturally being that we are coming into the fall/Autumn season and colors, I had to make her a card that reflects that.  I hope that this card encourages her to keep on and such.

I used:
Spellbinders Maple leaf die
Martha Stewart Classic Woodland Paper pad (Back ground papers)
DCWV The Bon Voyage Tavel Cardstock Stack (for the sparkly leaves)
DCWV The Autumn Splendor Cardstock Stack (also for the sparkly leaves)
Brown/white bakers twine
Spider Web embossing folder
Floral sticker from my stash
Orange Stickles
Stamped Sentiment from Hobby Lobby

Numbered Birthday

I hope you all have been doing good and have enjoyed your summer.  We have been extremely busy lately with enjoying the last few days of our "summer" before we get back into the swing of school.  The kids always get so excited as the books and curriculum start to arrive.  They can hardly wait for me to open the boxes.  It is almost like opening Christmas presents for them...I think there is something wrong with them.  My oldest has been begging me to start school two weeks ago!  Oh well, I am so glad that they are at least excited, for now.

Anyways, this fun yet cute card inspiration, came from the wonderful site of "Pinterest"! I changed it up a bit. I made this for my niece who just turned 15! I think it turned out pretty good.  I struggle with making a card that doesn't have a lot of glitzy stuff all over it!  Really hard not to add some kind of sparkle or ribbon. So this one I just rubbed a little stickles around to give it a little shimmer to it.  This is an easy and fun card to make when you have a gypsy to help you design it.  Well, I hope she liked it!

I used:
Plantain Schoolbook Cricut cartridge for all the numbers
Black Cardstock
Making Memories Wedding paper for the background
DCWV Glitter Stack for the pink paper behind the number 15
Pink and Green stickles
White ink
Happy Birthday Sentiment stamp is from Hobby Lobby
Thank you so much for stopping in
and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Fluttery Birthday

Hey everyone, I hope you are all doing great!  I can't believe that summer is almost over and it is time for school to start.  Where did the summer go already?  Well, we just came back from a quick camping trip.  Which was kinda stressful, it rained every day and everything was either wet or damp.  YUCK!  It was near impossible to get a fire going to help keep us warm and dry.  But hey the kids had fun and that is what counts, right?  My youngest caught her first fish which was only about 2-3" long!  She was so proud of it though.  They have been begging to go fishing since then.  Anyways, we came home with lots of wet gear and lots of mosquito bites and two very stressed and tired parents and happy kids!  So glad to be home and dry!

Anyways, now onto the card.  I made this for my wonderful Mother-in-law.  I could not ask for a more kind and sweet lady to be my mother in law.  She is so precious to us all.  My kids love spending time with her and just hanging out at her house.  So precious!

I used:
Indie Art Circut Cartridge for the butterfly cuts
Spellbinders scalloped ovals
DCWV Mariposa Stack
Craft Cardstock
Ribbon from my stash
Adhesive pearls
Stamp sentiment from Hobby Lobby

Well thank you so much for stopping in!
I hope you have a day filled with blessings!

What Am I Up To Now?

Well, if you have followed my blog since last year or have read any of my past posts, you know what happens at Thanksgiving time every year!  I know, I know, Thanksgiving isn't until November!  Let me explain myself, for any of you new followers!

On Thanksgiving day, my Mom's family gets together and has a wonderful dinner and a short time of visiting, then it is time to clean up then....the "ladies" share and exchange handmade crafts for each other.  Some are Christmas ornaments, some are baked goods, to jewelry to wreaths...the list goes on.  I am not sure how long we have been doing this, but I know it has been since I have been married.  So I could say it has been at least 15 years.  So I have accumulated a lot of Christmas ornaments to Christmas decor from this.  Well, to make a long story short, I make one for every "Adult" women (Aunt, Cousins...), then whatever is left, then the younger girls can have one.  Either way, I have to make at least 30 of my craft.

So I found something that I am very delighted how it has already turned out ,and the first two are just my "practice" ones.  So here is a little teaser of just some of the supplies that I am using for my craft.  If I would do one every day for a month, I would get them done so quickly...the only problem is that sometimes I am lucky to even get to sit down at my crafty corner and enjoy it.   Plus I also have cards to work on inbetween all of this and make LOTS of Christmas cards, too.  Anyways, you will just have to wait till Thanksgiving to see what it is!  Enjoy trying to figure it out while you wait.  Till then keep checking my blog out to see what I ended up making.
